Within the first two weeks of being in New York I was introduced to Levain Bakery. I was in heaven. I know the world is on a cupcake craze right now but I prefer a scrumptious cookie. Levain's has almost perfected this cookie. When I first went in I was shocked at the price. Four dollars for a cookie? I chalked it up to just being in New York City where everything was seeming ridiculously expensive. The cookies themselves are big. One cookie would satisfy me as a meal. If you are eating it as a snack or a dessert it really should be shared--but who would want to share something so good? It is my favorite four dollars to spend in the city.
The dark chocolate peanut butter chip cookie divine. The cookie is packed and this isn't an airy "make the cookie look big so we can charge more." One of the best tricks I learned is that you have to ask for a hot cookie and then consume it while it is still warm. Because the cookies are so big the inside is really gooey when it is warm. It is relatively like eating warm cookie dough.
I cannot wait to perfect this.
